Awesome DIY Paint Projects You Can do This Weekend
Posted on March 14, 2020
Now that spring is here and the cleaning is underway, you might be in the mood to update further. Add some color and style to your home with one (or more) of these awesome DIY paint projects you can do this weekend.
Stencils
An accent wall is a great way to breathe new life into a mundane room. Take it a step further and add an art installation with some stencils. Pull in colors from the room to give it a truly coordinated look.
Furniture Makeover
Old furniture can be brought into this decade with an updated color. If you rent an apartment without much color or have a particularly bland room, use a bright piece of furniture to up the style. A bright dresser or vivid chair adds unexpected hues to a room. To start small, paint only the back of a bookshelf so that the color peeks out over books to surprise visitors.
Ceilings
Many homeowners neglect the ceiling as a place to put color. While it’s not the easiest project, it can still be accomplished with a weekend’s work. Many dining rooms make the perfect canvas for color, particularly if they have crown molding or other decorative pieces. Take a slightly tinted paint or full color to create a new feel in your room.
Chalkboard Drawings
Rather than fight with kids for coloring on the walls, encourage it! Paint their walls with chalkboard paint and give them the go-ahead. A safe space to create colorful pictures will keep you and little fingers happy. It’s a good way to waste away a stormy afternoon without causing a mess.
Front Appeal
The front door sets the tone for your whole house. Changing the color of the door can change the mood of your yard and the curb appeal. Use the flowers and foliage around your yard to help pick colors. If you’re dealing with mostly neutral colors, go black, red, or vivid colors.
Glamorous Bath
Half baths are very convenient for guests but often lack style. Show off a dramatic flair by adding color there. This is the one time that you don’t need to worry about the room looking smaller. We know it’s small. Since there are no windows, the colors don’t necessarily need to match the rest of the house’s color scheme. Any color and style is on the table. Paint a color you love, add a decorative mirror and get a new feel.
