Residential Community Gate & Guardhouse Painting in Vero Beach

In August 2025, CertaPro Painters® of Melbourne, FL completed a large-scale exterior restoration and repainting project for Bermuda Bay, a residential HOA community in Vero Beach, FL.
At the start of the project, many exterior surfaces showed visible wear from Florida’s harsh sun, humidity, and coastal weather exposure. Paint had faded across numerous structures, while metal components exhibited tarnishing and surface deterioration. Key entry features, fencing, and architectural elements had become weathered over time and required professional preparation and refinishing to restore the community’s overall appearance.
The project focused on revitalizing those highly visible community features throughout the gated property, helping restore curb appeal and maintain a polished appearance for residents and visitors.
PROJECT SCOPE:
The project included preparing and repainting a variety of entrance and common-area structures throughout Bermuda Bay. Work included decorative block walls with wrought iron inserts, perimeter fencing, entrance gates at three separate access points, and two guardhouses.
Additional work involved repainting light poles, light posts, traffic signage, and community mailboxes. The team also restored the Bermuda Bay monument entrance sign by applying a new skim coat and finish to refresh its appearance and improve visual consistency throughout the property.
CHALLENGES & SOLUTIONS:
One of the primary challenges was maintaining uninterrupted access and security throughout the active gated community. The team carefully coordinated production schedules to ensure all entrances remained operational and that the guardhouses continued functioning during the project.
Phased scheduling and communication with the HOA allowed work to progress efficiently while minimizing inconvenience to residents and visitors.
SPECIAL EQUIPMENT & TECHNIQUES:
The project required several specialized preparation methods to ensure proper adhesion and long-term durability. The guardhouses required a troweled finish to match the existing surface texture and achieve a uniform appearance.
All wrought iron components were thoroughly cleaned and prepared before painting, including detailed wipe-downs using rubbing alcohol to remove contaminants and residue. A commercial-grade power washer was also used to clean surfaces and remove dirt, chalking, and buildup prior to coating application.
