PROJECT INVOLVEMENT
In October 2025, CertaPro Painters® of Maine completed a full exterior trim painting project for a home in South Portland, ME. The exterior had not been painted in over 10 years, leaving the trim worn and in need of attention.
Our team completed detailed prep work, including scraping and priming, before applying a black finish to the wood trim. The scope of work covered the entire exterior trim of the home. Because the property was built before 1978, lead-safe practices were followed during the preparation process.
CHALLENGES
The primary challenge of this project was painting with black paint, as its high tint content makes it more susceptible to heat and direct sunlight. To ensure proper adhesion, even coverage, and a durable finish, the project required careful timing and controlled application conditions.
