Exterior Siding Repair Project in Rockland

Carpentry & Siding Painting Case Study
PROJECT INVOLVEMENT
In August 2025, CertaPro Painters® of Maine completed a specialized exterior repair and siding project for a home in Rockland. The property had significant moisture damage along the lower exterior walls, where long-term water intrusion had rotted the cedar shake siding and compromised the underlying wall system.
Our team carefully removed the deteriorated cedar shakes to assess the extent of the damage. Once the area was exposed, we identified and addressed compromised sheathing and framing. All damaged materials were removed back to solid, sound wood, and the walls were rebuilt to restore structural strength and stability.
CHALLENGES
The main challenge for this project was the hidden damage beneath the surface. Water intrusion had moved past the siding into the underlying wall system, requiring a thorough assessment and structural rebuilding of the sheathing and framing before any new siding could be installed.
PROJECT TIMELINE
The project was completed in 3 days.
THE FINAL RESULTS
The project successfully restored the home’s structural integrity and exterior. After rebuilding the damaged walls, new cedar shakes were installed to blend perfectly with the original siding. The result is a durable, weather-tight finish that protects the home while maintaining its classic look. Check out the transformation photos below!
