We have a lot of experience painting historic homes throughout Maine. For this painting project, our painters ended up in Freeport to take a white home that lost its luster many years ago to a nicely painted charming home.
About the Historic Home
This house was built in the 1800s. Back then, homes didn’t have as much character as they do now. Blame it on the lack of colors available and the desire to decorate.
Over the years, this home has been through a lot as far as weather conditions – rain, sleet, snow, wind, and more have plummeted the exterior of this home. Age also affected the integrity of the wood, which made the house look even older.
During the estimate appointment, our estimator identified chipped and peeled paint and let the homeowner know the exterior would need to have some light carpentry work done to it before painting. The good news is that the light carpentry work is something we provide, so there was no need to call another contractor for the project.
The Painting Process
Our team of painters scraped, feather sanded, and repaired or replaced wood as needed. After the prepping process was complete, the entire house was painted a soft pink color with green accents.
We took an old, unappealing home and made it look attractive and brand new again. The project only took four days and the customer was absolutely delighted with the results.
