Cabinet Painting Case Study

PROJECT INVOLVEMENT

In February 2025, CertaPro Painters® of Maine completed a kitchen cabinet refinishing project for a home in Buxton, ME. The cabinets had not been painted in 15 years, and the homeowners were looking to modernize and “freshen up” their home. Our professional cabinet painting services bring new life to your kitchen!

Our team began with an extensive preparation phase to ensure a pristine workspace, including the removal of all cabinet doors, drawers, and hardware, followed by masking off of the work space for a clean work area. Additionally, the wood grain required a technical, multi-step coating process. The cabinet doors, first, have to be sanded, then coated with two different primers. A bonding primer so everything adheres properly and a blocking primer to make sure there is no tannin bleed-through from the wood grain or previous coating.

CHALLENGES

One of the primary challenges of this interior transformation was ensuring that each door was returned to its original location after painting. To accomplish this, all doors needed to be carefully labeled and numbered prior to removal, requiring detailed organization and attention throughout the process to maintain consistency and accuracy during reinstallation.

PROJECT TIMELINE

The project was completed in less than a week.

THE FINAL RESULTS

The project successfully renewed a 15-year-old kitchen, giving it a bright, updated look without the need for a full remodel. The result is a clean, modern kitchen that feels brand new. Check out the transformation photos below!
