Historic Building Project in Yarmouth, ME
In September 2020, CertaPro Painters® of Maine was contacted by the Town of Yarmouth to paint and refurbish three historic town buildings on Main Street. As a repeat customer, they were confident they could count on CertaPro’s professionals to complete the extensive carpentry needed, along with extensive prep work needed for the heavily peeling paint.
During the project review, CertaPro Painters® identified heavily peeling and flaking paint both on the clapboards and the trim that, given the age of the buildings, very well could be lead paint.
Renewal Of Three Historic Buildings
Three different buildings received their own unique treatments to update the appearance of each. One of the buildings needed a spot replacement of clapboards, another building needed the entire gable end replaced, while a third needed the entire front re-sided. Included as well were the split rail fence and privacy fence that decorated the gardens.
These tasks required extensive carpentry with the clapboard repair and replacement, Lead-Safe work practices to contain the flaking and peeling paint while protecting the tenants and neighbors. The structures were finished with a durable paint coat for a brand new look and long-lasting protection.
