Residential Exterior Painting Case Study in Louisville, KY

In April 2024, we were asked to repaint and rejuvenate the exterior of a home in Louisville. Before starting, the house’s aluminum siding was a discolored white. The trim and gutters were also a discolored white from normal weathering, aging, being dirty and sun fading.

This project involved simple painting, prepping the surfaces by caulking any cracks, peeling off paint that is chipping away, and cleaning off the aluminum siding, gutters and trim. It was tricky to use tall ladders in order to reach the top parts of the home and working with the elements, such as the heat or rain. However, our team was up for the challenge and worked with the environments. The project required using the correct paint/primer for the aluminum surface being painted. This is important to make sure the paint bonds to the surface. We also used a Duration-Acrylic Latex PrepRite ProBlock to prep the aluminum siding. Duration-Acrylic Latex Loxon was used on any concrete surfaces and Duration-Acrylic Latex was used on any stucco or wood columns.

In 7 days, we rejuvenated this building and made it even more captivating! We used Sherwin Williams Duration Satin color 6178 Clary Sage for the aluminum siding, Sherwin Williams Duration Satin 9127 at Ease Solider for the foundation, and Sherwin Williams Duration Satin Dover White for the trim.
