Spring Cleaning
Posted on April 10, 2017
It’s springtime and with spring comes spring cleaning. I never know where to start cleaning. Everything needs to be spick and span after a year of ‘sweeping it under the rug’ and simply wiping everything down with a Clorox wipe.
Windows
Start with the outside of your home; Windex the windows inside and out. While you’re at it, wipe down any blinds and wash all your curtains.
Floors
Deep cleaning floors is essential. We drag in all sorts of dirt and grim when we walk around the house, especially if we have our shoes on.
Kitchen
The kitchen can be the most overwhelming. I always start with the fridge; weed through all the food and toss whatever smells funky or has been there since the dinosaurs walked the Earth.
Bathrooms
I would like to think that you clean your bathroom more than once a year….if not then reevaluate your life and start scrubbing every surface in your bathroom.
Living Rooms
Take the time to move your furniture around and pick up anything that might have disappeared under the couch. While you’re at it, rearrange your furniture for a fresh, new look.
Closets
Don’t forget the closets. Remember the rule of thumb is if you haven’t worn it in a year you should donate or consign. Another tip to keep yourself organized is if you buy a new article of clothing or pair of shoes you should get rid of one from your closet. LET IT GO!
Light Fixtures
Light fixtures and fans collect an enormous amount of dust over the span of a year. Take a walk around the house and dust off all the fixtures and light bulbs.
And when you are done you’ll be able to sit back and enjoy the roses….errr I mean the TULIPS!
