Clever and Decorative Home Storage Ideas
Posted on April 10, 2017
There’s nothing like a good decorative storage hack. It’s functional, stylish, and saves space. Here are some of my favorite home storage ideas. Some are super simple, while some could require a minor renovation depending on how your house is set up.
1. Consider renovating your staircase with shelving or drawers for extra storage space, hidden or decorative.
2. Hanging fruit baskets can double as decorative bathroom storage. This is especially handy for guest bathrooms because everything is easily accessible.
3. Don’t have a lot of kitchen cabinetry? Buy your own shelving and use metal bins as drawers.
4. I know for some, extra closet space is like gold but if you already feel you have plenty, remove the door and decorate your own office cubby.
5. A great way to make a play space look neat and organized is by making it easy for your kids to clean up. Using different bin sizes and having several spaces for them means more hidden room for toys.
6. If your staircase is near the front or back entrance, using the area under the stairs to create coat cubbies is attractive and a great space saver.
7. My kitchen is lovely until you open my cabinets. A lot of us have stray tupperware and pot lids that reek havoc amongst our organized, stackable pots and pans. A tension rod is a quick fix if you can find the right size: no screws or drilling required and those pesky lids finally have a home.
8. Have you ever wanted an indoor herb garden but just didn’t have the space? Use a cloth shoe rack, spice it up with labels and hang it the sunlight.
