What is the Best Way to Paint Kitchen Cabinets?
In the first installment of a three part series, Gene Helm and Hunter Story describe a recent project in which our team breathed life into a tired set of kitchen cabinets. They were simple and smooth wood cabinets, typical of those in the 1960s. Here’s how our skilled kitchen painting team completed the project:
- They sanded down the cabinets.
- They applied a coat of primer.
- They finished with a final coat to seal.
In the video below, The sample door that Gene is holding shows both the primer coat (top) and the finished product.
If you are considering repainting your kitchen cabinets, the CertaPro Painters of Louisville team highly recommend priming the kitchen cabinets and using two coats of finish to seal. Not only is this the best way to extend the life of your existing cabinets, but it’s also an effective way to brighten up your entire kitchen!
