Interior Design by Season

Posted on November 6, 2017

What if we all lived our lives according to the seasons? Sure, this is what Mother Nature intended and how things once were, but to us the thought is so foreign. But what if we ate only in season produce? What if we migrated during cold or storm seasons? And what if instead of just breaking out our summer clothes or putting up santa figurines for Christmas, we actually redecorated our homes by season (not holiday)? It would bring a whole new meaning to spring cleaning, that’s for sure. This doesn’t have to be a total renovation; you would just focus on four simple areas: color, texture, scent, and art. The infographic above displays this perfectly. The ultimate goal is to give your home the ambiance of that season. For instance: During the summer we want to keep everything light mostly because of the heat. Light blues, whites and yellows compliment summer; cottons and silks have a cool crispness to them that keeps us from getting too hot; you want your scents to be clean and not too abrasive, and finally, the art work you choose should compliment the furniture you already have and reflect all the best elements of summer: sun, the beach, waves, storms, etc. What’s your favorite seasonal decor?
