Creative Ways to Display Books Without a Bookshelf

Posted on April 17, 2017

Bookshelf, schmookshelf! Who needs one? No really, bookshelves are awesome and make a lot of sense but maybe your library has outgrown the one or two you have. More than likely, if you have this many books you love them and want to take care of them. You're not just going to strew them about willy nilly. Instead, get a little creative with placement and stacking, and before you know it your books become food for the eye in a whole new way. Not to mention you can use it to compliment your design goals for the rest of the room.

Coffe Table or Pyramid Stack

I just recommend placing fabric or glass on top of "coffee table" to protect your books in case of spills.

Choose book size and color wisely, then pair up with unique knick-knacks.

You can find large, vintage birdcages at antique shops and even thrift stores. Obviously you need one with a large opening in order to store your books.

The Windowsill

It's a perfectly good shelf that often goes unused.

Again stick to a common theme with size and color.
