Breathing New Life into a 70-Foot Cupola
In August 2025, CertaPro Painters® took on a unique and challenging project at Mercersburg Academy in Mercersburg, PA, restoring a weathered cupola towering roughly 70 feet above the campus.
Over the course of just two days, the iconic feature was cleaned, repaired, and repainted to preserve its historic charm and protect it from the elements.
About the Project:
Scope of Project:
The work included pressure washing the entire surface to remove dirt and loose paint, caulking seams for weather protection, priming to ensure strong adhesion, and finishing with a fresh coat of paint.
Special Equpment:
Due to the cupola’s extreme height and limited access, it had been neglected for years. To safely complete the work, our crew utilized a 107-foot articulating atrium lift, allowing precise maneuvering and secure access to every surface.
