From late April through early July, CertaPro Painters® of St. Louis County and Madison County completed an extensive exterior restoration project for McKnight Place: St. Louis Senior Living and McKnight Place Extended Care. The property required a significant amount of structural and cosmetic repair due to widespread wood rot, aging substrates, and multiple elevations with difficult access. Our team combined detailed carpentry, stucco repair, and full exterior repainting to restore the building’s integrity and enhance its long-term durability.
Because this active senior-living environment demanded safety, efficiency, and minimal disruption, our crew deployed specialized equipment and coordinated work strategically across the expansive campus. Despite deteriorated surfaces and unexpected breakage during carpentry removal, the project was completed with precise workmanship and adherence to a tight timeline. The final result is a stronger, cleaner, and beautifully refreshed exterior designed to withstand years of exposure.

Removal of rotted and deteriorated wood throughout multiple elevations
Replacement of siding, including wood, clapboard, and dormer-ceiling areas

Installation of new molding, fascia boards (10×2 and 1×4), posts, and trim
Stucco repairs across affected wall surfaces
Caulking, wood filler application, and substrate reinforcement

Full cleaning, prep, and priming of all repaired and existing surfaces
Application of Sherwin-Williams Duration® Low Luster finish

78′ Atrium Lift for tight front-elevation and high-reach areas
85′ Manlift with Jib for upper-level, corner, soffit, and recessed elevations
