Q: HOW MUCH WILL IT COST TO PAINT MY HOUSE?

FAQs

A: The cost of each project is based on the scope of work for that individual project.  Each project is different, based on the exact work the customer desires to have completed.  We do a very detailed proposal for each project based on the needs of each customer to ensure that we meet and exceed their expectations at the best possible value.

Q: DO YOU HAVE A PROJECT MINIMUM?

A: For new projects, we have a $1000 minimum.  For existing customers returning to do additional projects the minimum varies by the work needing to be completed.  The typical minimum for previous customers is $500.

Q: IS THERE ANYTHING THAT CAN CHANGE TO THE COST OF A PROJECT AFTER I RECEIVE MY QUOTE?

A: Since we provide a very detailed proposal for each project, which lists the work to be completed on the proposal both the customer and we sign, the only items that can change a project are when additional work is added which was not on the original proposal or when there are additional unforeseen carpentry repairs.  Our goal is to give a very accurate upfront quote so there are minimal surprises.  If we suspect any additional wood damage, primarily on exteriors but can occur on interiors occasionally, we will notate that on the proposal quote.  Our Production Manager stays in contact with the customer if any of these types of unforeseen repairs are found.

Q: ARE YOU LICENSED AND INSURED?

A: Yes

Q: HOW MANY PEOPLE DO YOU SEND OUT FOR EACH JOB?

A: The crew size will depend on several factors such as size and type of the project.  Typically most crews are 3-4 people.

Q: HOW WILL MY PROJECT BE MANAGED?

A: CertaPro prides itself on extraordinary experiences and outcomes.  Each project will have an onsite Job Site Supervisor as well as a Production Manager who will check in with the crews each day and with the Customer to be sure that expectations are being met.  In addition, each customer always has the option of contacting their Sales specialist if any questions arise.

Q: HOW MANY PAINT COLORS ARE INCLUDED IN YOUR TYPICAL PROPOSAL?

A: We price each proposal quote based on the needs of each customer.  

Q: IS THERE A WARRANTY?

A: We have a 2-year limited warranty which is part of each proposal quote.

Q: CAN THE PAINTERS WORK ALONE AT MY HOUSE?

A: The short answer is Yes, painters can work alone when painting at your home, with some caveats.  Painters can work alone at your home when painting your exterior, as long as they have access to the areas being painted and any fence gates are unlocked with no pets in the fenced yards.  For Interior projects having painters alone in your home is a customer preference.  Our crews have completed many projects while left alone in the customer’s home.  Some long-term customers give us key access and we complete projects while they are not at home.  But, we also understand how having any contractor in your home alone can be unsettling.  So we constantly communicate with the customer to ensure we meet their expectations and comfort level.

Q: WHAT TYPE OF PAINT DO YOU USE?

A: We primarily use Sherwin-Williams products.  However, we use a variety of different types of paint depending on the project and the surfaces to be painted.

A: WHAT COLORS DO YOU SUGGEST FOR THE EXTERIOR?

Q: Color is a very personal decision.  And if you live in an HOA community, it can be an HOA decision.  In some ways, not necessarily always a good way, HOA communities make it easier to pick an exterior color because they provide only limited choices.  If you live outside of an HOA community the color choice is only limited based on your color preferences, as long as it coordinates with any existing brick/ stone, roof color, and any other existing fixed items.   We love bold color choices when that fits the customer’s lifestyle.

A: DO YOU HAVE COLOR CONSULTATIONS?

A: Our salespeople are trained to assist with color options.  However, we do not make color choices because, as noted previously, color is a very personal choice.  We encourage our customers to look at colors, get samples and put actual paint on the areas to be painted, to see how the colors look in “real life”.  This is especially true for interior projects where the various lighting impacts can greatly impact how a color appears.  For interior color selections, it is important for the customer to look at the existing floor colors, cabinets, built-ins, trim color, etc.. to be sure the color chosen works as part of the whole house color flow.

Q: ARE THERE CERTAIN COLOR PALETTES YOU SUGGEST FOR THE INTERIOR?

A: Color is a very personal decision, especially on the interior where cabinets, flooring, existing furniture, drapery, and other household fixtures need to be taken into account when choosing color.  We suggest that the customer get samples and put color options in several places in each room to be painted, ideally in different lighting. This will give a much better overview of how the color will actually look in each area being painted.

Q: IS THERE ANYTHING THE HOMEOWNER SHOULD DO TO PREP FOR YOUR CREW TO ARRIVE?

A: Each proposal outlines some of the responsibilities of both the Customer and CertaPro to complete before the work starts.  For each project, our office support staff will send communications to each customer outlining what to expect.  This includes what prep the customer should take care of before the crew’s arrival. The customer will also get a phone call from our office which will highlight what the customer should expect and what to do in preparation.  Our goal is to have ongoing communication with the customer so that they are prepared for the crew’s arrival and a smooth painting process.  Our goal is an Extraordinary Experience and Outcome for each customer.

Q: WHAT IS YOUR CLEANUP PROCESS?

A:  Our goal is to always leave our work areas as clean as when we arrived.  Each day we will clean up, store our equipment in the designated location and put up any extra paint in an area agreed to by the customer.  For some projects such as large interiors, there will likely be furniture and floor covering left in place due to the workflow of the project.  

Q: WHAT’S YOUR MOST POPULAR SERVICE? (EX. DO YOU STAIN A LOT OF DECKS? PAINT BRICK HOUSES? SOMETHING DIFFERENT THAN YOUR AVERAGE PAINTING PROJECT)

A: Outside of our standard interior and exterior painting projects we have done many unique projects.  We have completed Lime Wash old-world finishes look on brick homes.  We have repainted brick homes in all types of colors and sheens.  One thing that many customers do not know is that we can do full carpentry repair services for damaged trim and siding of homes.  This a more cost-effective and time-efficient approach than having a separate carpenter followed by the painters.

Q: DO YOU OFFER ANY SPECIALS OR DISCOUNTS FOR GROUPS LIKE VETERANS, SENIORS, ETC.?

A: We offer a 5% discount to all military (active and retired) and first responders. 

 Also, we always offer our Paint Now, Pay Later financing option provided by Enerbank, USA (for qualified buyers) which offers a 6-month Same As Cash program.  This is a great option if someone has an expected tax return or other cash payout coming in the next few months.  They can paint now and pay off within 6 months and have no interest charged.

In addition, we have more traditional financing options provided through Acorn Finance which will search and find loan options for customers.
