Exterior Painting Prep Guide

On Schedule and Ready to Go
Our crews generally arrive at between 8:00 & 9:00 am to start the workday but, we can customize a schedule that works for you. In most cases, your CertaPro estimator or another CertaPro team manager will be present to start the project and stop in throughout the duration of the project to check on progress & quality.
Scheduling Note: While we do our best to stay on schedule, factors like weather or changes in earlier projects can occasionally impact start dates. If anything changes, we’ll keep you informed right away so there are no surprises.
For Exterior Projects – Preparing for Your Painting Crew
To help your project run smoothly, safely, and on schedule, please take a few moments to prepare the following before we arrive:
- Foliage: Trim bushes/plants at least 12” away from the home. Remove any vines attached to surfaces being painted.
- Windows: Ensure all windows are fully closed. If you’ve had past leaks, please notify us and consider placing towels inside as a precaution.
- Decks/Porches: Remove furniture, décor, and fabric items. (Decks are only pressure washed if we are staining them.)
- Screens: Please unlatch window screens from the inside so they can be removed from the outside.
- Pets: Keep pets safely away from work areas and advise us of any special instructions.
- Access: Unlock gates and provide access to all work areas, including any necessary codes.
- Water & Power: Let us know where exterior water and electrical outlets are located.
- Parking: Inform us of any restrictions or best parking options.

HOA Reminder:
If applicable, please confirm HOA approvals (colors/work) prior to your project start.
I had several quotes for painting the front of our house, garage doors and screened in porch. I elected to go with CertaPro after doing research/reviews. The price quoted was even a little better then other companies. Management was very good to work with. About a week after negotiating the contract a painter by the name of Marvin came to our residence and power washed the area that was to be stained and painted.
The following day Marvin with a helper returned and started the project. The project took Marvin and crew three days from start to finish. These guys did a great job. I am a very picky person about painting and they surpassed my expectations.
The crew was very punctual and very polite. Clean up was very good. I have nothing bad to say about this company.
I highly recommend this company and don't hesitate to request Marvin.

What You Can Expect From Our Team
At CertaPro Painters, we take care of your home as if it were our own. Unless otherwise noted in your agreement, our team will:
- Carefully move larger patio or porch furniture or protect it as needed
- Protect areas around your home as needed with drop cloths, plastic, and/or construction paper
- Return moved items to their original place once the work is complete
- Remove and properly dispose of all job-related materials and debris
- Clearly label and leave any leftover paint for your future touch-ups
Final Walkthrough
Once your project is complete, a Job Site Supervisor will walk the space with you to ensure everything meets your expectations. They’ll take care of any final touch-ups, answer questions, and notify our office that the project has been completed. You receive a check in call from our office, and we provide you with the final invoice for final payment.
