Flying Dog Brewery Commercial Case Study
by CertaPro Painters® of Frederick, MD
The Client:
Flying Dog Brewery is a craft brewery located in Frederick, Maryland. It was founded in 1990 by George Stranahan and Richard McIntyre and is the largest brewery in the state. As of 2017, it is the 28th largest craft brewery in the US.
The Client Challenge:
The brewery operates out of a 50,000 sq. ft building built in 1996. Before the Flying Dog team hired us, the building was experiencing varying forms of decay from mildew, cracked expansion joints, rusting, peeling paint, and peeling caulking. Moreover, we had to work in tight spaces on ladders due to the silos and over 18-wheeler trailers when they had deliveries and pickups.
The CertaPro Painters® Solution:
Due to the building’s condition, the project took two weeks to complete between June and July 2021. We had to give the facility an extensive cleaning before starting, using power washers and Extra Muscle clearer. We also performed extensive scraping and sanding on metal roofs, caulked all expansion joints, and primed the bare metal surfaces. To perform our services and ensure a great outcome, we used two lifts, a 65-foot articulating man lift, and an 85-foot man lift. Coordinating our work with their business operations was integral to the success of this project.
The Success and Result:
The Flying Dog Brewery was left with a revived look and sturdy foundation when we finished the project. Their team chose to work with us because of our warranty and the quality of our work. Overall, they were satisfied with the job, and we look forward to working with them again.
