Colors You’d Never Paint Your Walls Until Now

There are colors that have taken a back seat for decades when it comes to interior painting. Long gone are the days of off white eggshell and barely there beige. Here are 11 colors making waves in the longstanding traditions including colors you’d never paint your walls… until now.

Blush
To give your room a stylish and relaxed feel of femininity, go blush! The room is a grown up way to pink. Warm tones create an inviting room that is pulled together, as any grown woman should be. It’s the perfect backdrop for sipping drinks on a relaxed Sunday.

Graphite
Now on the opposite end of the spectrum, show your dark and moody side with a dark gray graphite room. Using a dark color on the walls can be risky, but pair it with light colored wall art and you’ll feel as though you’re in a stylish loft.

Black
You thought graphite was dark! Go black! Putting black walls up with a brilliant white trim creates a sophisticated decor to pair with colorful or light furniture. Black also creates a high end glamorous feel by pairing it with silver and chandeliers.

Emerald
This color is so much more classy than the Emerald City. Bright emerald green pairs perfectly with black, white and gold to create a classy room. The timelessness of the color pairing makes a room that’s perfect for everyday life.

Peach
Peach is making a comeback. That’s right, get your best 80s peach back out. When it’s paired with cream and white, plus classy decor elements, you’ll have an up-to-date room with chic, relaxed elegance.

Mint Green
It’s every bridesmaid’s nightmare. Mint green has leapt off of the taffeta and into living rooms. Using decor and furniture that is modern paired with a traditional mint green gives the room a polished look. Using half mint walls with cream or white creates a modern and airy room.

Navy
Looking for a cool and collected feel? Go navy! It creates a vibe that’s neutral but classic. Use white and red to give it a true naval feel, or go with graphics and a fluffy rug for a more laid back room.

Apple
Create cool and crisp walls with an apple green. While it’s not typically the first choice in paint chips, it creates a calming and cooling effect on the room. It’s a great accent wall to display art on or can be paired with white for a full room approach.

White
Shocking, white is an under-considered color. It’s the perfect wall color for a crisp and glamorous room. The color has lost out for years to off white, beige and greige. Since it’s been overlooked for so long, white has lost favor with homeowners. Now it’s back to give you the white backdrop for your life.

Teal
Teal is finding love with unexpected combinations. Mixing teal and tangerine creates a bright and warm room. Because it’s so modern, pairing it with traditional furniture shows you have more sides to your style.

Red
Finally, go with the color of fire: red! This color is so much more than Mr. Grey’s Red Room. Deep reds are eclectic and edgy giving you a good palette for your possessions. Pairing the color with white, black or metallic creates a brilliant combination of colors.
