Breathing Life Back Into A Beautiful Home
Nestled in the heart of Knoxville, a previously neglected Victorian-style residence underwent a transformation thanks to our team at CertaPro Painters of East Tennessee. The property, which had remained unoccupied for several years, was grappling with deteriorating siding, compromised eaves, a sinking deck, and pervasive mildew. Furthermore, the presence of peeling lead paint posed significant health and environmental risks.

Description of Project: Our team was commissioned to spearhead an intensive interior and exterior renovation project. Our tasks encompassed everything from wallpaper removal and trim installation to sheetrock replacement and comprehensive repainting. The objective was to meticulously refurbish the main residence and the adjoining carriage house.
Project Involvement: We initiated the exterior overhaul with a rigorous ‘lead-safe’ preparation procedure in line with stringent EPA standards. The process involved the careful removal of loose and peeling paint, followed by a thorough cleaning, and finally sealing and caulking the structure. We then applied a superior quality peel bond primer and finished off with two coats of premium Sherwin Williams exterior paint.
In parallel, our skilled carpentry crew executed multiple tasks, including siding replacement, eave repairs, deck renovation, and window framing repairs. It’s important to mention that the entire renovation team adhered to safety protocols, donning hazmat suits in alignment with EPA guidelines.
Special Challenges: This was a home previously painted with lead paint. We had to properly quote lead-safe setup and prep and perform the work in accordance with EPA Standards and Guidelines to prevent possible fines and/or hazards to the homeowners or surrounding community.
The Results
Upon completion of our meticulous restoration project, the main house and carriage house were brought back to their original splendor. Today, they stand as a testament to the robustness of the neighborhood, mirroring the quality and commitment of CertaPro Painters of East Tennessee.
