Bracebridge Hall in Macclesfield, NC

Bracebridge Hall in Macclesfield, NC reached out to our team to revive the exterior of their building. This building was showing its age, with many areas where the paint was peeling off, there was discoloration due to weather exposure, and sun damage.

The project involved cleaning and removing the flaking paint. Cleaning and reglazing the windows. Sanding, priming, and painting the metal roof. Removing failed caulking and re-sealing all the cracks with fresh caulking. Priming all exposed wood prior to placing the finish coat. Paint all the surfaces. The building was built in 1830 and is considered a historical landmark. There was a large amount of manual labor used to remove the flaking paint. The windows are original and very delicate. The ornate design on the second story required a lot of attention to detail in order to prepare the surface for painting. 40-foot ladders had to be used since there was not enough access to fit a boom lift. We also re-glazed all the existing windows.

This project was completed over the course of three weeks in September 2023. The work was a collaborative effort between our company, the on-site carpenter, and the owners of the property. We also partnered with the material supplier and our paint representative to ensure materials were available on time. See our photos below to see how we successfully finished the project!
