Residential Painting Case Study
Waverly, TN
Project
CertaPro Painters® of Clarksville, TN / Hopkinsville, KY completed a comprehensive interior and exterior painting project for a waterfront home in Waverly, TN. While the interior was in good condition, the homeowner wanted to refresh the living room window frames and baseboards. The exterior showed signs of fading, dirt, and weathering, with rust developing on portions of the boat dock.
The project involved refreshing multiple exterior surfaces, including the home’s siding, trim, doors, deck, and boat dock, to restore curb appeal and improve protection against the elements.
Process
The team began by power washing the exterior surfaces to remove accumulated dirt and prepare them for painting. Work included painting the home’s vinyl siding, fascia, window frames, doors, and door frames. The cedar shake siding on the greenhouse section of the home was also painted, along with the brick foundation. Additional preparation included caulking seams where needed and staining the exterior deck.
The boat dock required additional attention due to rust on its metal supports. The team carefully sanded the affected areas before applying primer and paint to the metal supports and dock siding. Inside the home, the living room window frames and baseboards were repainted to provide a clean, refreshed finish.
Challenges
One of the primary challenges was painting the boat dock, which was positioned directly over the water. Limited working space made accessing certain areas difficult, particularly where ladders could not be easily positioned. The crew had to work carefully to reach the metal supports and properly prepare the rusted surfaces before painting.
The waterfront location and extensive scope of work made this project unique. Careful coordination was necessary to complete the various painting and staining tasks while addressing the accessibility challenges around the dock.
Result
Completed in August 2026 over the course of five days, the project delivered a refreshed appearance throughout the property. The newly painted siding, trim, doors, and brick foundation, along with the stained deck, helped restore the home’s exterior appeal. The living room window frames and baseboards also received a clean, updated finish.
The boat dock received much-needed attention, with rusted metal surfaces prepared, primed, and repainted. The completed project demonstrates how professional residential painting services can refresh a waterfront property while addressing the unique challenges of working around water and difficult-to-access areas.
