Residential Interior Painting Case Study
Case Study: Kitchen Refresh & Cabinet Painting
Project
CertaPro Painters® of Clarksville, TN / Hopkinsville, KY completed an interior kitchen refresh focused on updating
the overall look while maintaining the homeowner’s existing color scheme. The project included repainting walls,
trim, and cabinets, as well as removing outdated wallpaper elements to create a cleaner, more modern appearance.
Process
The project involved detailed preparation and repainting across multiple kitchen surfaces. Wallpaper border was
removed from one wall, followed by priming and painting to restore a smooth, consistent finish. Wall imperfections
and nail pops were repaired, and a small area behind the stove was properly prepped, primed, and painted.
All trim, doors, and window frames were scuff sanded, primed, and finished with two coats of paint. Kitchen cabinets
were also carefully prepared through sanding and priming, then coated with two finish coats to match the existing
color. The process required attention to detail to ensure a uniform and refreshed look throughout the space.
Challenges
This was a straightforward project overall, with the primary focus being precision and consistency while matching
existing colors. The simplicity of the job still required careful execution to ensure all surfaces blended seamlessly
and met the homeowner’s expectations.
Result
Completed in April 2026 over the course of three days, the project delivered a clean, refreshed kitchen with updated
surfaces and improved visual appeal. The removal of outdated wallpaper and the refinishing of cabinets and trim
helped modernize the space while maintaining the homeowner’s preferred color palette.
Customer Impact
The homeowner now enjoys a brighter, more polished kitchen without the need for a full renovation. Through careful
preparation and expert application techniques, the updated finishes provide a cohesive and refreshed look that
enhances the overall feel of the home.
