Warehouse Makeover - Freeman Enclosures
Featured Commercial Project
Before
Our commercial crew was recently hired by Freeman Enclosures, a fuel tank and enclosure supply company, to repaint one of their warehouses. They have multiple warehouses that supply their inventory and we were contracted for services on the interior of one of them. The warehouse is broken up into two separate parts: one is approximately 50’x100′ and the second is approximately 100’x195′ with a bump out of 20’x80′. The facility is located in Batavia, OH.
The facility had peeling paint from different surfaces- metal deck ceiling, supports, trusses, metal L-beam supports and a metal crane unit. The walls of the facility were covered installation that had holes, tears and exposed parts from everyday wear and tear. Parts of the ceiling had smoke damage and other areas had grease from different machinery being used in the facility.
After
The project involved prepping the metal surfaces that had peeling paint, rust and the smoke damage, on parts of the ceiling. The metal surfaces included- ceiling, man doors, OH doors, crane and the vertical beams along walls, and freestanding beams. We removed the peeling paint and then primed the specific areas accordingly. We also cleaned all of the cobwebs and dust with an air compressor. Then we performed the degreasing process in certain areas.
The ceiling was sprayed with a flat dryfall product and the walls multi surface acrylic. On certain metal surfaces we painted a safety yellow industrial urethane enamel- crane bottom of 6ft beams. We had to use a special type of primer in some metal areas due to the rust and smoke damage.
We used lifts inside the facility. There were also multiple colors on the different beams and crane. We used a special product on the ceiling- dryfall – which is used in many different warehouse facilities. It involves high volume coverage with minimal overspray.
