Description of Project:The wood-siding home was in rough condition when we started the project. The color on the front and back of the house had faded from its original brown stain. In addition to the color fading, some of the wood and trim along both sides of the home had rotted and had to be replaced.

Project Involvement: The project involved carpentry and painting. We started with the carpentry work. The carpentry division removed the rotted siding from the left and right sides of the home. Then replaced with new wood siding. We also resecured siding boards that may have been loose. In addition to the siding, there were also trim board pieces that needed to be replaced. Once the carpentry work was completed, we prepped all surfaces to be ready to stain or paint: all siding, wood trim, gutters, downspouts, doors, and shutters. The new siding had to be treated and primed to accept the stain and coincide with the current siding that was still intact. The current siding was pressure washed, scraped, and sanded as needed, as were all previously caulked areas. Once all prep was complete, we painted or stained the house using multiple colors and products in the specified areas.

Special Challenges: Carpentry work – since we have a full-service carpentry division, we were able to give the customer the convenience of having all services on one contract. All the worn-out siding was removed and replaced with new siding to blend seamlessly with the existing siding, giving it a natural appearance. We also secured any loose boards that may have needed attention.
