Description of Project: This beautiful two-story home had its original brick on the front of the home, a stone porch structure, and original color vinyl siding on the sides, back, and second story of the home. The home owner’s color choices revamped the home, giving it a modern look.
Project Involvement: To begin, we caulked all previously caulked areas, including the windows and doors, lightly sanded the chalking paint on the door frames and window sills/frames, scraped any loose paint, and then washed all the areas that needed painting to get rid of any dirt, mildew, and other debris so the fresh finish coat would stick properly.
Then, we painted various parts of the house using various materials and hues. We used two exterior coats with a satin finish to paint the gutters, downspouts, soffits, fascia, doors, frames, and vents. On the vinyl siding and front porch ceiling, we applied two exterior coats of their selected color with a flat finish. One coat of paint was used on the garage door.
Special Challenges: The prep work on the stone and brick required a special wash so the paint would adhere properly to the surface.
Special Techniques: There were many surfaces being painted with different products and colors, so attention to detail was important.
