Description of the Project:
In July 2023, CertaPro Painters of Cincinnati, Ohio, embarked on a project to revitalize the exterior of a middle school in Fairfield, Ohio. The school’s exterior surfaces were faded and in need of an upgrade, having not been repainted for a long time. The project involved thorough preparation and meticulous painting of various areas around the school.

What Did the Project Involve?
The project involved several key stages:

Surface Preparation:
We began by pressure washing or hand cleaning all surfaces to be painted. Rusted areas were hand scraped and wire brushed, with careful containment and disposal of all paint chips. We then spot primed all bare or rusty surfaces, fully primed window panels and bright red doors, and caulked all previously caulked seams and cracks with high-quality, paintable silicone caulk.

Painting: After completing the prep work and priming, we applied multiple finish coats to various areas of the school:
North Elevation: Two finish coats on the red window panes, man doors, and entrance ceiling/overhang.
East Elevation: Three finish coats on the overhead doors, entrance ceiling and lintels, man doors and door panels, window panels, and vents.
West Elevation: Three finish coats on the entrance ceilings, man doors, lintels, and window panels.
South Elevation: Three finish coats on the awning, including the metal siding, soffit, lintel, and brown panel.

Special Challenges:
The project required careful coordination as each side of the building was treated as a separate contract with specific scopes of work. Attention to detail was crucial throughout the entire process, from estimating to production. Additionally, scheduling was a major emphasis, as we worked closely with the school to ensure the project was completed within their timeline.

Our skilled team carried out the painting process with precision and efficiency. Each area was meticulously prepared and painted, resulting in a smooth and durable finish. We prioritized minimizing disruption to the school’s operations while delivering top-quality results.
