Stadium Exterior Refresh – Lockland Area High School, Cincinnati, OH
In March 2025, a two-week exterior painting project was completed at a multi-use high school stadium in the Lockland area of Cincinnati, Ohio.
The facility—used for football, soccer, track and field, and other athletic events—had recently undergone major upgrades, including new turf and other amenities. However, the dated and deteriorating paint on structural elements left the space looking unfinished and in need of a professional refresh to match the newly upgraded features.
This case study details the worn conditions we addressed and the impressive improvements made through expert preparation and finishing.
PROJECT SCOPE:
The scope of the project included a variety of surfaces across the stadium: railings, concrete block walls, steel beams, lintels, the press box and its doors, garage and concession stand doors, and window frames.
Many of these areas showed extensive wear—paint was faded or missing altogether, metal components were rusted, and surfaces had accumulated years of grime.
With the stadium recently renovated, the worn and damaged paint stood out and needed a refresh to complete the transformation.
SPECIAL TECHNIQUES:
Preparation was key to the project’s success. All surfaces were pressure washed or hand cleaned, loose paint was scraped and contained for proper disposal, and rusted areas were wire brushed.
Any cracks, gaps, or previously caulked joints were re-caulked to ensure a seamless finish. Bare surfaces were then spot primed before applying two coats of exterior paint in multiple coordinated colors.
The project required the use of lifts and experienced technicians to carefully address the various surfaces and hard-to-reach areas.
The result was a clean, vibrant, and durable finish that visually completed the stadium’s renovation and restored pride to the Lockland community’s athletic hub.
