Upgrading a Manufacturing Facility with Safe, Code-Compliant Concrete Walkways
In July 2025, CertaPro Painters® of Cincinnati completed a two-week commercial concrete replacement project for a manufacturing facility located in Blue Ash, OH. The property’s existing sidewalks had deteriorated significantly over time, with widespread cracking, separation, and uneven surfaces creating safety concerns for foot traffic. In addition, the original walkways were no longer ADA compliant and required full redesign and reconstruction to meet current accessibility standards.
Our team carefully removed the failing concrete, regraded the affected areas, and prepared new layouts based on engineered plans and code requirements. The project included full sidewalk reconstruction along with improved entrances and accessibility landings to support safe facility access. The completed installation delivered a durable, compliant, and professionally finished walkway system that improves both safety and long-term functionality.

Scope of Work:
- Pressure washing and hand cleaning of all exterior surfaces
- Treatment of efflorescence using mild cleaning detergents
- Scraping loose paint, wire brushing, and grinding rusted areas
- Spot priming all bare and rusted surfaces
- Caulking previously sealed areas and filling hairline cracks
- Removal of old caulking and debris from expansion joints
- Installation of closed-cell backer rod in all expansion joints
- Application of new caulking system to expansion seams
- Finish coating applied to concrete wall panels, overhead doors, dock levelers, and man doors
