Q: I need painting, where do I start?

A: The first step is to determine whether you want to complete the project yourself or hire a professional. If you feel comfortable with DIY check out our DIY section for tips. If you aren’t sure, just reach out, we’re happy to help any way we can.

Q: I want to hire a professional painter. What is the first step?

A: Typically, the first step is scheduling a time to meet one of our estimators on site to review your paint and carpentry needs. Schedule your free estimate with CertaPro.

Q: Do I have to be at the estimate?

A: Yes, you will need to be there. We do not provide “Drive-by” estimates. It is important for us to meet and understand your project and the desired outcome. We might be able to save you hundreds or thousands of dollars by recommending multiple solutions. The estimate also helps ensure clarity and confidence while minimizing uncertainty.

Q: Do your estimates include paint?

A: Yes. We supply all tools, equipment, primers, paints, and stains required to complete the job properly. With us, everything is included, and we work with you to identify the right products and supplies to complete your job.

Q: How do I move forward?

A: Once the estimate is completed, you will receive your paint or carpentry proposal within two days. After the proposal is signed and returned by you, we will get your project on our production schedule. For more info on our production process click here.

Q: When can you start?

A: Our production schedule varies by season. In warmer months, we can typically start your exterior project within 2-4 weeks. If you have an interior project, we can typically start your project within 2-4 weeks year-round. If you have a specific start date in mind let us know, we will do our best to make it work or if you have other scheduling concerns, we will do our best to accommodate.

Q: How long will the project take?

A: Project duration varies based on size and complexity, but your sales associate can give you a rough idea on what to expect for the duration of your project at the time of the estimate.

Q: What hours do you work?

A: Our office is open, and phones are answered by a live person from 9AM – 5PM Monday – Friday. Our standard working hours are 9AM – 5PM. We also have crews available for nights and/or weekends if needed.

Q: How long have you been in business?

Q: Are you insured?

A: Absolutely. We have full liability, commercial auto, workers compensation and an umbrella policy.

Q: Have you done other projects like mine?

A: Over the years we have completed thousands of projects in the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area. Last year alone we completed over 1,000 residential projects and over 350 commercial projects. Despite coming across something new each year, we are confident we have completed a project like yours. We are happy to do what we can to make you feel comfortable that CertaPro will meet your specific needs!

Q: How much will my project cost?

Q: How do I choose paint colors?

A: If you need help choosing a new color for your project, visit your local Sherwin Williams for information on new color trends, popular colors in your area or other advice. If you would like to match your current color, we can use a paint or wood chip to match or if you have a paint can or information on your previous color, please present it at the time of your estimate to the sales associate.

Q: How do I pay for my project once it is completed?

A: We accept payment by credit card and check. If paying by credit card, you can pay online by clicking here. If paying by check, please leave it with the crew foreman upon completion or mail it to our office.

Q: Do you offer carpentry services?

A: Yes. When inspecting a new project some issues may be found that could inhibit painting (wet/damaged drywall, rotting wood, loose siding, etc.), but luckily, we can help! We have an in-house carpentry division that works together with the painting team giving you the convenience of having all necessary services under one roof.
