Mending the Damage
Our team was hired by a general contractor to repair and paint exterior areas on a Bob Evan’s restaurant located in Wilmington, OH.
The Bob Evan’s had damage to the exterior of a certain area of the building due to a fire. The fire compromised the siding and layers of the exterior. They temporarily had these areas covered with wood.
A Group Effort
This project involved both our carpentry and painting divisions. The majority of the project was performing the exterior insulation finishing system (EIFS) repairs to the building. The carpentry team installed new backer rod as needed.
Next, we installed foam insulation board using bonding adhesive. The team insured the surface was flush and coated the surface with bonding adhesive and applied it while the area was wet.
Once the area was dry they applied a finishing coat to match the exiting texture of the building.
A CertaPro Specialty
EIFS repair is a very specialized service that not many paint companies or other contractors can perform. The process can involve the installation of backer rod, insulation and expansion joint caulking depending on the project. Also, the effected area must be matched with the existing exterior texture. This all must be done before any painting can occur.
Time for Phase Two
Once the carpentry team completed the EIFS work, our painting team took over. They caulked all of the open seams and once dry, the area was primed. The current exterior of the building was color matched to find the exact red and gray colors and two finish coats were applied.
