Description of Project: The exterior of this facility was dull and faded, with peeling paint in multiple areas.
Project Involvement: The project involved exterior priming and painting not only the building but also the different accents. We started by preparing the area by pressure washing and scraping or sanding any loose paint. We then applied two coats of paint. There were four different products being used to paint the many different surfaces, including wall panels, man doors, metal caps and gutters, downspouts, OH doors, dock levelers, safety red accents, hydrants, bollards, meter pipes, safety yellow guardrails, blocks and doors on dumpster corrals, and any previously painted metal railings.
Special Challenges:One of the businesses in the facility has hundreds of service vans and trucks traveling in and out, so we had to make sure to block off areas and use traffic cones when needed. Since there were many different surfaces being painted, we needed attention to detail to make sure the correct products and colors were used on the specified surfaces.
Due to the size of the facility, we used a water trailer for the pressure washing, and lifts were required to paint.
