Exterior Painting at Sam’s Club in Lakewood, CO
In June 2020, CertaPro Painters® of Castle Rock, CO was contacted to complete an exterior painting of the Lakewood Sam’s Club. The commercial building was struggling with sections of peeling paint and oxidation, presenting an unappealing and worn look to customers and passersby. CertaPro’s team was well-equipped to complete the project with a coordinated effort and proper equipment, ensuring customer satisfaction and a professional finish.

CHALLENGES:Projects of this magnitude present their own set of unique challenges. Large scale assignments require proper coordination within the team for an efficient operation. Solid communication with the building’s management is also paramount to make sure the renovation efforts are not infringing on the store’s daily functions.
The Sam’s Club restoration also required a 60 ft boom lift and special stripping products for paint removal. The lift allowed for access to high and hard to reach areas of the building. The stripping material eased the routine and hasten the pace in which the old paint was pulled from the building.
The power washing process also presented its own challenges. The water needed to be reclaimed during this part of the operation. Water reclamation is necessary because of the pollutants that could potentially be washed away with the water.
CONDITIONS:
- Peeling Paint – Peeling paint on the building created a worn look the needed to be smoothed and updated
- Paint Oxidation – Oxidation on the building produced a patched and chalky appearance that needed to be updated alongside the peeling sections
- Dirt Accumulation – A full power washing was required before painting because of the accumulation of dust and dirt
- Failing Caulk
The exterior caulking was showing signs of wear and needed to be replaced
PROJECT INVOLVEMENT:
- Prep – The commercial building was power washed and stripped to create a proper canvas for the new paint coat
- Paint – Two coats of paint were applied to restore the structure’s appeal and protect it from exposure

During the winters you can find Josh now skiing down his favorite mountains, although never having skied before moving to Colorado. During the summers Josh loves to go hiking, camping, and enjoys spending time with his friends at live music events.
