At CertaPro Painters of Castle Rock, CO, we recently had the privilege of working with the Help & Hope Center, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing food and assistance to families in need. This project involved refreshing the grocery area of their facility—a space critical to their mission. Over two days in February, our team worked to repair and paint approximately 2,000 square feet of wall space, creating a welcoming and functional environment for the families who rely on this vital service.
Addressing Damaged Walls and Gloomy Conditions
When we began, the walls of the grocery area were in poor condition. Years of use had left them with numerous holes, dents, and other damage. Additionally, the space felt dark and uninviting, which didn’t reflect the hope and support the organization aims to provide. These issues required more than just a fresh coat of paint—they demanded a thoughtful approach to both repair and design.
Repairing and Painting the Walls
Our first task was to prepare the walls for painting. This included filling holes, patching dings, and sanding the surfaces to ensure a smooth and even finish. Once the walls were ready, we applied two coats of paint using a sprayer. The selected colors brought brightness and energy to the space, transforming it into a more uplifting area for the families who visit.
To further enhance the design, we incorporated two large rectangular stripes that ran along the length of the walls. These added visual interest while creating a cohesive and polished look.
Adding the Help & Hope Logo
A key feature of this project was painting the Help & Hope Center’s logo on the wall. To achieve a professional and precise finish, we used a custom-made stencil. This step required careful attention to detail to ensure the logo was positioned correctly and accurately represented the organization’s branding.
Overcoming Challenges
One of the challenges we faced during this project was ensuring the stripes and logo were applied perfectly level and straight. Achieving clean, consistent lines required extra diligence and precise measurements. Our team worked methodically, taking the time to verify alignment at every stage. The result was a polished and professional finish that met the client’s expectations.

Josh is originally from Indiana. He went to college at Indiana University in Bloomington majoring in both Marketing and Professional Sales. During his time at IU, he was actively involved with the second largest student-run fundraiser in the country supporting the local children’s hospital in Indianapolis. His previous work experience includes working at the 3rd largest insurance brokerage in the world, where he was able to get top of the line training in both sales and marketing.
Josh moved to Colorado be in a place where he could enjoy spending almost every weekend outside. During the winters you can find Josh now skiing down his favorite mountains, although never having skied before moving to Colorado. During the summers Josh loves to go hiking, camping, and enjoys spending time with his friends at live music events.
