Castle Rock Recreation Center in Douglas County, CO
CertaPro Painters® of Castle Rock, CO renovated the Castle Rock Recreation Center in 2018. The new painting added a fresh feeling to the property for public use. CertaPro operated during the center’s annual shutdown, giving them a condensed timeline requiring efficient work and proper planning. When the project was complete the pool and gym walls, along with the ceiling, were refinished for a brand new look. CertaPro Painters® are equipped to handle projects of this size, leaving their clients pleased with a professional result.
CHALLENGES:
Projects of this size contain their own set of obstacles. Coordination among the team and communication with the client are very important, especially for this assignment. Schedules needed to be molded around the work of other contractors that were also participating in the recreation center renovation.
CHALLENGES:The size of the building also required special equipment to properly complete the painting. Lifts were brought in to reach high areas of the walls and to efficiently finish the ceiling coat.
CONDITIONS:
- Peeling Paint – The paint was losing adherence to the walls causing them to peel for a unpleasant appearance
- Dark Ceiling Sections – Stains and spots on the ceiling were visible and in need of removal
- Worn Pool Walls – The pool walls needed a new coat of an epoxy mixture due to its exposure to water
PROJECT INVOLVEMENT:
- Prep – The proper equipment to complete the project was gathered and the area was cleaned before painting
- Paint – The recreation was painting using rollers for the walls and a sprayer for the ceiling
PROJECT TIMELINE – 1 month

Before the project commenced, CertaPro’s team took pictures of the area to mark areas of concern and to plan accordingly for a complete finish.

The pool walls required a new finish to bring the area back to life with full functionality.

The pool area needed a complete repaint for both the walls and ceiling to update this section of the rec center.

Josh is originally from Indiana. He went to college at Indiana University in Bloomington majoring in both Marketing and Professional Sales. During his time at IU, he was actively involved with the second largest student-run fundraiser in the country supporting the local children’s hospital in Indianapolis. His previous work experience includes working at the 3rd largest insurance brokerage in the world, where he was able to get top of the line training in both sales and marketing.
Josh moved to Colorado be in a place where he could enjoy spending almost every weekend outside. During the winters you can find Josh now skiing down his favorite mountains, although never having skied before moving to Colorado. During the summers Josh loves to go hiking, camping, and enjoys spending time with his friends at live music events.
