Dining Room Interior Painting Project in Castle Rock, CO
The homeowner wanted to paint a few rooms of their home, but their big concern was removing wallpaper in the dining room and texturing the walls like the rest of the home.
After prepping the room, our team of CertaPro Painters® removed the wall paper. Once the wall paper is removed, we have to skim coat the walls to make it consistently even around the room. After the walls are nice and flush, we retextured all the walls above the wainscoting in the dining room. Once the new texture dries, we can prime and paint and really bring the room to life. The homeowners were very happy with the work and said, “The crew did a great job.”
CHALLENGES:
Removing wallpaper is tricky because you never know how long it will take to remove it from the wall. Some of it peels right off and doesn’t take too long. Some wallpaper is put on with really strong adhesive so it could take hours or a full day to remove wallpaper in one room.
CONDITIONS:
- Wallpaper Removal – Before applying the new paint, our CertaPro team had to skillfully remove the wallpaper in the dining room to avoid damaging the walls
- Large Furniture – Our CertaPro team always finds a way to work around the configuration of your interior spaces and minimize disruption
PROJECT INVOLVEMENT:
- Wallpaper Removal – Ensure all old wallpaper is properly removed to avoid any surface damage to the wall, ensuring a quality paint job
- Paint – The upper half of all walls in the dining room were painted with a fresh shade of light beige to make the room feel more spacious
PROJECT TIMELINE – 3 days
BEFORE PHOTOS
Our CertaPro Painters® of Castle Rock, CO assessed the strength of the adhesive applied to the wallpaper to determine how difficult it would be to cleanly remove. Then they prepped the area for painting.
Before Dining Room Interior
The interior of the dining room before the paint job - the navy color was all thick wallpaper that had to be removed prior to painting.
THE FINAL RESULT
The wallpaper was removed, the new paint was applied, and our team tidied up the room before presenting the finished product to the customer.
