Floor Coating Project in Denver, CO
CertaPro Painters® of Castle Rock, CO was asked to complete a project for Clayton Early Learning in May 2020. The concrete flooring was very old and worn down, requiring the application of a new coating. The CertaPro professionals used an etch grinder to remove the top layer of the floor and open up its pores so that the coating adhered correctly. With the coating product, decorative flakes, and protective top layer, Clayton’s floor was transformed into a beautifully constructed and protected walking space. CertaPro Painters® of Castle Rock, CO is equipped to handle an array of projects for maximum customer satisfaction.
CHALLENGES:
Interior commercial projects contain their own set of challenges. The floor required an etch grinder before the coating could be applied. It was essential to have the right equipment to grind the floors and correct plan to mitigate dust accumulation.
CertaPro’s professionals were also not allowed to remove any of the heavy equipment or detach gas and water lines at the center. It was essential to mask the feet of stoves and sinks to the best of their ability so the project could be completed to CertaPro standards.
CONDITIONS:
- Worn concrete – CertaPro addressed the worn concrete by grinding the floors and applying a new floor coating.
- Stains and spots – Stains began to accumulate on the floor that needed to be concealed.
- Gas and water lines – Utility lines remained in place and were worked around to complete the coating
- Heavy equipment – Stoves and sinks remained in place as CertaPro prepped and coated as far back as they could underneath.
PROJECT INVOLVEMENT:
- Prep – Clean and prep the floor surface for coating, cleaning stained areas and etch grinding the floor’s top layer.
- Coat – The equipment and lines were masked and the floor was professionally coated.
PROJECT TIMELINE – 3 days
