Community Fencing in Thornton, CO

In August 2025, CertaPro Painters® of Boulder and Longmont  partnered with a local property management team in Thornton, CO, to restore and protect extensive fencing throughout a managed community. The project blended carpentry repairs with professional staining, ensuring the perimeter fences were not only structurally reinforced but also visually consistent, helping the HOA maintain curb appeal and long-term value.

The fencing throughout the community received a comprehensive restoration, blending structural reinforcement with a refreshed finish. The addition of black metal post caps elevated the look while extending post longevity. The result is a perimeter that is clean, consistent, and durable—enhancing curb appeal, reducing long-term maintenance costs, and supporting overall homeowner satisfaction.

PROJECT SCOPE:

This project combined detailed carpentry and exterior staining services to restore and protect the community’s fencing. Our team began with carpentry repairs, which included replacing rotted boards and posts, installing vertical replacement boards, and securing loose sections with screws. To further improve durability and aesthetics, we capped the posts with sleek black metal tops.

Fence preparation and staining followed. All surfaces were power washed to remove dirt, mildew, and peeling coatings, then scraped to ensure proper adhesion. We applied Sherwin-Williams SuperDeck 9600 Solid Color Acrylic-Alkyd Stain in a color-matched green finish, using brush-and-roll and spray-and-backroll methods for full penetration and long-lasting coverage.

The scope also included treating both sides of the split rail fencing, including the tops, as well as the exterior-facing sides of the privacy fences. The result was a uniform, refreshed appearance that reinforced both protection and curb appeal across the entire community.

SPECIAL TECHNIQUES:

Our crew used commercial power washing equipment to thoroughly prepare all fence surfaces before staining.

The stain was applied using a combination of spray, brush, and backroll methods to ensure even coverage and deep penetration. Professional carpentry tools were required for the precise replacement of boards and posts, while the Sherwin-Williams SuperDeck stain system provided superior weather resistance and long-lasting adhesion.
