Interior Renovation for Parker Colorado Senior Living Community

In February 2026, CertaPro Painters® of Boulder and Longmont completed a multi-scope interior renovation project at a senior living and memory care community in Parker, Colorado. Located in Douglas County within the rapidly growing southeast Denver metro area, the three-story facility serves residents across independent living, assisted living, and specialized memory care programs.

The project focused on refreshing a wide range of resident-facing spaces, including dining rooms, corridors, activity areas, and the memory care wing. Because the facility remained fully operational during the renovation, the work required careful coordination with staff and residents to maintain safety, accessibility, and minimal disruption throughout the process.

PROJECT SCOPE:

The renovation included a comprehensive combination of interior painting, drywall repair, wallcovering installation, cabinetry refinishing, and specialty interior installations. CertaPro Painters repaired drywall damage, patched areas affected by electrical work, and repainted walls and ceilings throughout multiple common spaces and corridors.

In addition to painting, the project included installing four different wallcovering systems, applying custom window film, and refinishing buffet-area cabinetry with new doors, drawer fronts, and hardware. Specialty installations were also completed for a theater space, including mounting hardware and fabric for new curtains.

Throughout the project, Sherwin-Williams Zero VOC coatings were used to ensure minimal odor and maintain indoor air quality—an essential requirement in an occupied senior living and memory care environment.

CHALLENGES & SOLUTIONS:

One of the most important considerations for the project was working inside an active senior living community. The crew maintained a clean and organized job site each day, carefully moving furniture as required, storing equipment safely after work hours, and coordinating access with staff to avoid interrupting daily routines.

The project also involved a multi-phase scope that evolved through several revision cycles as the renovation progressed. Materials, areas of work, and installation details were updated over time, requiring precise documentation and communication with the out-of-state construction management team overseeing the project.

Architectural details presented additional challenges. Cathedral ceiling bumpouts and drywalled soffits in the dining and memory care spaces required careful painting at height using extension equipment to ensure color consistency across difficult-to-reach areas. Coordination was also necessary in the Memory Care Lobby after exposed wiring was removed by the electrical contractor, allowing CertaPro to patch and repaint the affected surfaces before final inspection.

SPECIAL EQUIPMENT & TECHNIQUES:

Specialized installation work was a key component of the project. The team installed four different types of commercial wallcoverings, applied custom decorative window film, and completed cabinet door and drawer front replacements with updated hardware.

Additional specialty work included installation of theater curtain hardware and fabric, requiring precise measurements and coordination with other renovation activities. These techniques, combined with the use of Zero VOC coatings and careful surface preparation, ensured a high-quality finish appropriate for a healthcare and senior living environment.
