The Building:

The painting professionals of CertaPro Painters® of Boca Raton, FL were hired to paint the exterior of a local office/warehouse building that houses Mile Marker Industries.

Scope of Project & Process:

At the start of the project, the building’s exterior was faded, with deteriorated paint and mildew stains due to many years/decades of not being repainted. The aluminum window bronze panes were badly faded and the back of the building was covered in vines.

Our team came in to repaint the whole exterior of the building. We performed our standard painting process, which included, power washing the whole building and prepping surfaces, which included making sure any cracks in the stucco were patched and sealed. Then, we applied an acrylic sealer/conditioner and a finishing coat of paint.

Our crew painted the exterior stucco walls, overhangs, balcony french doors, aluminum window frames, railings, roll-up doors, and metal awning.

The project took place in June 2022 and took about two weeks to complete.

Special Challenges/Techniques:

We used a boom lift for efficiency. The project involved our typical painting process aside from us recommending and using a water proof paint on one side of the building. Our crew noticed a high water mark on one side of the building. A rainstorm left a watermark about 3 ft up the side of the building. This led us to believe that there was a poor drainage issue. For future protection of the exterior and paint job, we recommended use of a water proof paint on that side from the foundation to about 4 ft. up. We waterproofed it by applying an intermediate conflex coating.
During our work, the business was fully operational with employees and delivery trucks. Our team coordinated with building management to ensure that we weren’t going to disrupt business operations and deliveries to the building’s loading dock. Our top priority was the safety of our crew and employees who work in the building.
