For the best finish possible, we recommend you remove doors and use drop cloths to cover any surface you don’t want paint on (floors, furniture, etc.). You should get the proper cleaing equipment for the area that is going to be painted as well.  A dirty wall will make it difficult for the new paint to adhere to. The cleaner the surface, the better the result.

Typically, using a wet rag with a small bit of soap should get the job done. If you notice any peeling, cracking, or flaking on your surface, you’ll want to stop and find the route of the problem. More often than not, new coats of paint don’t last as long because there is damage underneath.

Choose the Best Paint Type

Our first tip for getting the best house painting job is to choose the right paint. This includes a variety of aspects, including color, type, and accessories (such as primer). If you can shoot for around 70 degrees you’re in even better shape!
