Factory Finished Metal Building in Swansea
Factory Finished Metal Building Commercial Painting Project in Swansea
How did we get the job done efficiently when the ceilings were 16ft tall?
The problem to be solved:
A group of investors purchased the business location for a band rehearsal. They wanted it to look more like the upcoming casino venue they were actually going to be playing at. At this commercial factory project in Swansea, IL, this building needed a new coat of paint on its interior that would last. The challenges faced by the CertaPro Painters® team of Belleville, IL were a 52×56 sized interior with 16ft high ceilings. That would also require taping off all light fixtures, electrical outlets, and doors in the factory.
The Work:
The work would require the team to bring in a 13-foot scissor lift to reach all the high spots, including the tops of the walls and the entire ceiling. Fortunately, the walls and ceiling were being painted the same color, which meant there wouldn’t be additional taping off required to prevent paint clashing. The team decided to use a paint additive to ensure the bond was correct on the first coat of paint. They used Latitude Exterior Flat in the color of Moscow Midnight SW9142. The building was also heated to an internal temperature of 64 degrees to ensure the paint would set correctly since the project was done in December and the cold metal won’t take the paint the same as close to room temperature metal does.
Final result:
Through the team’s hard work, the building was completely painted in one coat using the scissor lift and all in under 3 days.
