PROJECT SCOPE:

The work began with thorough pressure washing to remove dirt, residue, and surface contaminants from all paintable areas. Necessary EIFS repairs were completed to address surface imperfections and ensure a sound substrate prior to coating.

Once preparation was complete, the team painted the CMU block and EIFS walls, as well as the various metal components throughout the rear service areas, restoring a clean, uniform appearance across the building.

The combination of masonry and metal substrates required proper surface preparation and coating selection to ensure long-term durability and consistent coverage across all elevations.

SPECIAL EQUIPMENT:

To safely access the building’s varying elevations, the project utilized both scissor lifts and articulated boom lifts. This equipment allowed the crew to move efficiently from section to section while reaching higher wall areas and recessed surfaces with precision in a busy commercial environment.

CHALLENGES & SOLUTIONS:

As with all retail projects, minimizing disruption to businesses and customers was a top priority. Work schedules were carefully coordinated so that pressure washing took place during off-hours, while painting was completed in controlled stages throughout the day. To further reduce impact, all painting was performed using brush-and-roll methods only—no spray techniques—eliminating the need to mask store entrances and preventing any risk of overspray in active pedestrian areas and fully occupied parking lots.

Entry and exit points remained clear, with lifts positioned away from customer pathways and clearly marked walkways maintained to ensure safety and accessibility. By sequencing the work thoughtfully and maintaining open communication, the crew completed the project efficiently without interfering with daily retail operations.
