Meet the Owner

Born and raised in Maryland, and having spent most of her life in Anne Arundel County, Monica comes to CertaPro with not only a love of home improvement, but also a love for her community. Over the years, Monica has spruced up 7 homes of her own, tackling everything from installing floors to remodeling kitchens, and of course painting walls. She loves a fixer-upper and isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty making a house her home.

Monica comes from an immigrant family who have instilled a heart for helping people. Her deep sense of community has led her to volunteer work with the National Aquarium in Baltimore, the National Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and the Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter (BARCS). She’s quick to admit that combining her love of dogs and volunteering in a shelter can get her into trouble!

While she was raising kids, Monica was a part-time painting instructor with a local community college. As they grew, she spent several years working with a big-box hardware company gaining trade knowledge and teaching DIY’er’s how to do their own projects.

Monica found unexpected success in healthcare IT working with Healthcare for the Homeless and the University of Maryland Medical System – BWMC. She wore many hats and carried lots of titles, but she realized at the end of the day she was a project manager. She enjoys being the hub that connects to the spokes and making the wheel move forward.

The CertaPro family quickly became an obvious fit when Monica decided it was time for a change. An eye for color, a passion for home improvement, a love of people, and project management skills added up to a great fit with a company that reflects her own desire to provide excellence in customer service while giving back to the community that supports her business.
