Fallsburg High School – Hallway Floor
Fallsburg High School – Hallway Floor
PROJECT: CertaPro was awarded the project to install durable new flooring in a series of concrete hallways at Fallsburg High School in Fallsburg, NY. After consultation with the school superintendent, Citadel Floor Finishing System (CFFS) with 1/4-inch color flakes in Saddle Tan was the selected solution, along with the installation of 4” SpeedCove molding.
PROCESS: Step 1 – Diamond Grinding to remove all layers of existing flooring, adhesives, and contaminates.
Step 2 – Ultra HydroStop H2O Primer application. This is a two-component water-based solution with moisture blocking and pH-resistant technology. This primer has excellent adhesion to moisture-laden concrete slabs.
Step 3 – Installation of SpeedCove precast cove base molding system, to create a consistent, uniform, and durable cove base.
Step 4 – ColorFlakes full chip broadcast. This step provides both visual appearance and texture to the flooring installation.
Step 5 – RG80X application. This is the Polyaspartic polyurea topcoat.
Step 6 – Polyurea HD-1 optically clear high gloss finish application. This adds additional durability to the floor installation
PRODUCTS USED: Citadel Polyurea Floor Finishing System, SpeedCove Molding.
RESULTS: The project was produced within an expedited timeline to meet the goal of completion during Easter break. Production management and quality control oversite included a combination of on-site visits and video conference calls. Several overnight deliveries assisted with material supply chain challenges.
The work that CertaPro performed on our concrete floors exceeded all expectations. We had a tight window during school break, and they got it done. It looks amazing. And its held up great with all the wear and tear on very high traffic areas. We highly recommend the CertaPro team.
