Q: I need painting, where do I start?
A: The first step is to determine whether you want to complete the project yourself or hire a professional. If you feel comfortable with DIY check out our DIY section for tips. If you aren’t sure, just reach out, we’re happy to help any way we can.
Q: I want to hire a professional painter. What is the first step?
A: Typically, the first step is scheduling a time to meet one of our estimators on site to confirm the problem and discuss potential solutions.
Q: Are you able to give me a quote over the phone?
A: Some projects we may be able to quote over the phone/through email or text with pictures, but that isn’t the most accurate way and would not result in a formal proposal. Most jobs will require an in-person meeting to discuss the details or your project, take measurements, and calculate a firm price quote. In person meetings remove any guess work and keep unexpected costs from entering the equation.
Q: Do I have to be at the estimate?
A: Yes, you will need to be there. We do not provide “Drive-by” estimates. It is important for us to meet and understand your project and the desired outcome. We might be able to save you hundreds or thousands of dollars by recommending multiple solutions. The estimate also helps ensure clarity and confidence while minimizing uncertainty.
Q: I have a small project. Do I really need an estimate?
A: For small or simple projects, we have our “Painter-For-A-Day” program. This gives our clients, a lead painter, all necessary tools and equipment for 8 working. Click here for more information.
Q: Do your estimates include paint?
A: You wouldn’t hire a lawn mowing service that asked to use your gas can. Why hire a painter than expects you to supply the paint?! We believe a professional painter should be expected to supply all tools, equipment, primers, paints, and stains required to complete the job properly. With us everything is included.
A: A signed contract and a deposit returned to our office will get you on our production schedule.
A: Like most things in Minnesota painting schedules are seasonal. When there is snow on the ground or in the forecast, we can typically start projects within a matter of days. When the weather is nice we can typically start your project within 2-4 weeks. As one of the largest painting companies in the Twin Cities, we do our best to accommodate all schedules. If you have a specific deadline let us know, we will do our best to hit it.
Q: How long will the project take?
A: Project duration varies based on size and complexity, but typically residential projects are completed in a few days and we try hard to not let projects go over a week.
A: Our office is open, and phones are answered by a live person from 9:00 AM – 5 PM Monday – Friday. Our standard working hours are 8:00 AM – 5 PM. We also have crews available for nights or weekends if needed.
Q: How long have you been in business?
A: CertaPro Painters was established in 1992. CertaPro Painters Twin Cities East was started in 2005.
A: Absolutely, insurance protects both you AND us! It’s a no brainer. We have full liability, commercial auto, workers compensation and an umbrella policy to help our customers and workers sleep at night.
Q: Have you done other projects like mine?
A: Over the years we have completed thousands of projects in the Twin Cities. Last year alone we completed over 500 projects. Despite coming across something new each year, we are confident we have completed a project like yours. We are happy to find pictures, contacts, addresses, etc., to help you feel comfortable with CertaPro Painters, just ask!
