Commercial Case Study
Recreation Facility
Greenwich Audubon Center
Project: The Greenwich Audubon society is a 686-acre nature sanctuary that was founded in 1943. CertaPro Painters was contacted to refurbish and paint one of the staff houses on the Greenwich Audubon property. The home was exhibiting extreme peeling, mildewing and paint failure due to the length of time, 15+ years, since the last time it was painted.
Process: Preparation included: Scrape loose or peeling paint; Patch cracks, holes and perforations; Feather Sand scraped areas; Scuff Sand glossy surfaces to promote adhesion of new coatings; Spot Prime where bare; Caulk any open gaps and joints where previously caulked. After preparation was completed, Painting scope was to apply two finish coats of high-build paint in the specified color and sheen. Carpentry repairs were included in the scope of work.
Products Used: Benjamin Moore Fresh Start Exterior Alkyd Primer, Regal Select Exterior High Build Paints, Flat (Siding) and Semi-Gloss (Trim).
Results: All specified surfaces are refurbished, clean and freshly painted at this recreation facility.
We reached out to CertaPro to help us rejuvenate the exterior of one of our staff houses. The structure itself had a lot of peeling paint and was also in need of some carpentry repairs. CertaPro was able to provide us an estimate that fit our budget, and even offered to make a donation on behalf of the Audubon Society. They held a pre-production meeting before the project started to make sure we were all on the same page. Once the CertaPro crew began working it was clear to see we hired the right team. They were on schedule, prepared the surfaces diligently and used the right products to make sure we would receive a long-lasting paint job. We would absolutely hire CertaPro again and recommend them to anybody in our community. Thank you CertaPro!
