Fire Escapes
Fire Escape Refurbishment and Painting in Yonkers, NY
Project: Six rows of fire escapes at a Residential Co-Op building in Yonkers, NY had not been re-coated in 30 years. The scope of work also included a color change. The customer service focus was safety and minimal disruption for the resident shareholders. Additional scope included preparing and painting additional metal surfaces including steps, railings, stringers, posts, the underside of steps and metal deck landings.
Process: Project notice was sent to all unit owners 7 days before work began. The CertaPro crew scraped all loose and peeling paint. Next, CertaPro applied one coat of Rust Inhibitive Primer and one top coat of Urethane Alkyd Enamel. The project specified extra attention to site protection, including masking all windows next to the fire escapes to protect those areas and the resident apartments. All work areas were cleaned, and all paint chips were collected daily. Strict attention was paid to following OSHA guidelines in all phases of the project.
Products Used: Sherwin Willams Pro Industrial Kem Bond HS alkyd rust inhibitive primer, and Sherwin Williams Pro Industrial Urethane Alkyd Enamel top coating.
Results: Site protection protocols were strictly adhered to and designated areas were restored to meet both client expectations and building code requirements. Zero complaints were registered from tenant shareholders. Total time on site from start-up to completion was 9 working days.
Working on this fire escape painting project with Patrick, Gary and the CertaPro Painters team was seamless. They were in constant contact throughout the whole project, even with a shutdown in the middle due to COVID 19. The end result met all expectations, fire escapes look great. We also had them paint our metal railings and guard rails throughout the property. I would recommend them to anyone looking for an honest painting job with competitive pricing.
