Extensive Deck Staining Project

In September 2023, CertaPro Painters of Southern Indiana was hired by a family in Lanesville to fix the exterior of their home. Prior to starting the project, the deck was weathered and parts of the existing paint was chipped off. The raw wood was exposed to the sun which caused discoloration all over.

Over the course of two weeks, we power-washed parts of the deck being painted, scraped any loose or peeling paint, primed any bare spots of wood, and filled parts with putty using a caulk gun. We also did window glazing despite challenging weather conditions. Our goal was to get the project started and finished before leaves started falling. Our team had to be efficient due to the sheer size of the deck system, which included the upper deck, lower deck, deck steps, poolside deck, benches, railings, and exterior band board. In the end, we transformed the deck using SuperDeck Acrylic solid stain in Traditional Mahogany.
