Creative Ways to Display Books Without a Bookshelf
Posted on November 6, 2017
Bookshelf, schmookshelf! Who needs one? No really, bookshelves are awesome and make a lot of sense but maybe your library has outgrown the one or two you have. More than likely, if you have this many books you love them and want to take care of them. You’re not just going to strew them about willy nilly. Instead, get a little creative with placement and stacking, and before you know it your books become food for the eye in a whole new way. Not to mention you can use it to compliment your design goals for the rest of the room.
Coffee Table or Pyramid Stack
I just recommend placing fabric or glass on top of “coffee table” to protect your books in case of spills.
Book SHELF
hahaha get it?!
Clever Placement
Choose book size and color wisely, then pair up with unique knick-knacks.
The BOOKcage
You can find large, vintage birdcages at antique shops and even thrift stores. Obviously you need one with a large opening in order to store your books.
The Windowsill
It’s a perfectly good shelf that often goes unused.
Book Lamp
Probably the most obvious. Not creative at all.
Aggressive Stacking
Again stick to a common theme with size and color.
